The Space Physics Archive Search and Extract (SPASE) Consortium is an international working group developing a space physics data model for scientific data systems (http://www.spase-group.org). They are working on creating a full dictionary of space physics terms and definitions. The data model is expressed as an XML schema.
This ontology takes the current release of the data model and represents it as an OWL-DL ontology. The current version of the ontology was built using version 1.2.0 of the SPASE data model. Version 1.2.0 is undergoing final review by the SPASE consortium and should be made public in early 2007.
Currently, the ontology represents a subset of the entire SPASE data model. It contains all of the science information but excludes some of the extra items such as representations of people, and access information. Future releases of this ontology will aim to include the entire data model. |
