Dr Ont's Semantic Spout
Box of TriX
Posted on Thursday, February 12 2004 at 19:13
Jeremy Carroll and Patrick Stickler recently dropped a
teaser
on
www-rdf-interest
about
Triples XML
(TriX), an experimental XML format for RDF triples. Rather than contribute to the
general brain farting on the list
as Derek (my developer) and I are busy painting the caravan in preparation for '
Dr Ont's Foo Camp
', we whipped up a
15 minute XSLT
and enabled TriX on
SchemaWeb
.
Vapourware is now
reality
and
TriX
feeds of RDF schemas are available for perusal and experimentation on all
schema details pages
. This is due in part to TriX's close mapping with
TriplesML
, SchemaWeb's
own format
for XML based delivery of RDF triples and the underlying format used by the
VicSoft.Rdf parser
.
A thought for all the RDF/XML purists out there who seem to abhor any alternative to 'that syntax'. The meat in the model and not how it is represented and serialised. And
why can't we wrap our RDF in XML rather than wrap our XML in RDF
?
